halfacat: (talking - this is what we'll do)

What's different thanks to being a hybrid

Purr - if he tries, he basically wrecks his throat and makes himself hoarse. What he comes closest to is a sort of humming noise, but produced a little further down his throat.

Other regular communication (that is, things like meow) - he's better at this, so it's not the equivalent of being unable to talk, it's more of a speech impediment. He doesn't quite get where he needs to go, or it's closer to a stutter.

Eyesight - he's got about half the night vision his kin have. He's definitely got better night vision than a human, but he's still considered pretty 'blind' by his kin. This despite the fact that he's got fully normal human colour vision (feli has a rather high incidence of colour-blindness, more than humans in general), and while he's a little near-sighted, it's not as bad as others (though they aren't as near-sighted as normal cats are generally either).

Smell - not as impaired as his ability to communicate "properly", it's really only slightly worse than his kin, but it's definitely 'enough' that those who knows him well would notice.

(Taste - not as much, because they do all have the ability to taste sweetness. Juri's just happens to be closer to a human's, so he's got a bit of a sweet tooth and definitely considered 'weird'.)

Catnip - doesn't affect him. In fact, he has a bit of an allergy to both catnip and all its relatives... except one, which affects him like catnip or its relatives does for a majority of his kin (not all of them, however).
